Thanksgiving Turkeys From Joes Butcher Shop
With Thanksgiving quickly approaching, it is time for Northsiders to prepare their menu. While anyone can certainly drive down to the local chain supermarket, occasionally, it is nice to get a fresh turkey from a local provider. Carmel and other Northside residents should consider ordering a turkey from Joe’s Butcher Shop in Carmel.
Joe Lazarra, the owner and founder of Joe’s Butcher Shop, first had an interest in food when he was a child. His grandparents owned a Sicilian fruit and vegetable market in South Bend, Indiana, where he grew up. When he was older, Joe traveled around the country for his sales job. Throughout the years, while on his sales trips, he visited a multitude of different restaurants and learned about the trade from several famous chefs. Many years later, Joe would notice that butchers in large supermarkets did not know much about the meat they were serving their customers. He eventually decided that the people deserved better, and he founded Joe’s Butcher Shop in January of 2006.
Joe’s Butcher Shop is probably best known for its selection of high-quality meats including beef, pork, chicken, seafood and Boar’s Head deli meat. However, it also sells party trays and wine. For large orders, Joe’s Butcher Shop has wholesale pricing. Wholesale options are available for many different types of beef and pork. All meat sold at Joe’s Butcher Shop is completely natural in make.
Joe’s Butcher Shops has some of the best selections of turkeys in the entire city. After some trial and error, Joe’s developed a business partnership with Ted Kuck, a farmer in Ohio. Kuck’s family had been raising turkeys in Ohio since the 1830s. Joe’s Butcher Shop decided to entrust Mr. Kuck with raising its turkeys, which he has done since 2009. All of Joe’s Butcher Shop’s turkeys are free-range. Since 2015, all of Joe’s turkeys use non-GMO feeds, and, for the first time this year, all of Joe’s turkeys are officially non-GMO. Turkeys for Thanksgiving 2016 can be ordered through Joe’s Butcher Shop’s website.
