Pets are certainly all the rage on the Northside. Take a stroll along any major road, and you are almost guaranteed to see someone walking his or her dog during the warmer parts of the month. Due to the popularity of pets on the Northside, and Zionsville in particular, many pet-friendly stores and shops are open for business in the Zionsville area.

The Choosy Pet

Since its opening in spring of 2009, The Choosy Pet is one of the best stops for Zionsville pet owners. The Choosy Pet resembles a traditional pet store, offering items like treats, bandanas and pet food. It also offers some very unique services. It offers a dog-friendly cake baking service. Each cake is custom-made. The Choosy Pet also offers personal painted pet portraits. Pet photography is also offered. The Choosy Pet is located at 40 East Poplar Street, just east of Main Street. It is open between 10:00am and 6:00pm during the week. On Saturdays, it opens at 9:00am and closes at 5:00pm. It is closed on Sundays and many major holidays.

PetValu

New to the Zionsville area in 2016, PetValu is a pet store mainly focusing on cats and dogs. However, it does have supplies for other types of pets including reptiles, birds and fish. In addition to typical pet store items like food and toys, PetValu has a large, dog-friendly bathing area. Guests can bring their pets into the store and bathe them for a nominal fee. While PetValu is new to the Northside, there is another location in Indianapolis. Zionsville’s PetValu is located at 53 Boone Village in Boone Village Shopping Center, which is located on the northeast corner of Ford Road and Oak Street. PetValu is open between 9:00am and 9:00pm on weekdays and Saturdays. On Sundays, it opens at 10:00am and closes at 6:00pm.

Three Dog Bakery

Three Dog Bakery is a very famous dog-focused store in Indianapolis. Three Dog Bakery is well-established in Indianapolis with locations on Massachusetts Avenue and in Broad Ripple in Indianapolis. Additionally, it has a location in Noblesville. Three Dog Bakery is currently preparing to open a location in Zionsville at 120 South Main Street. While it does have traditional pet store items like food and toys, Three Dog Bakery is particularly known for its dog treats. It has dog-friendly treats that resemble traditional, human food items. It is constantly creating new and unique treats for dogs, and there is no telling what Three Dog Bakery will come up with next.
