While the month of May is certainly a busy time of the year for Central Indiana residents with the Indianapolis 500, it is not the only great event that comes to town that time of year. With its success last year in Military Park, the Indy Brew Festival will return to the Circle City for the second year in a row. Beer enthusiasts in the Indianapolis area should consider checking out this great festival and sample some of the beers present.

Beers

There will be just shy of 60 breweries that will make an appearance at the Indy Brew Festival this year. Beer enthusiasts from the Indianapolis area will recognize some of the local microbreweries in attendance like Triton Brewing Company, Tow Yard Brewing Company and Three Wise Men Brewing Company. There are several national brands that will be in attendance as well. Brewing companies like Kona Brewing Company, Kentucky Ale and Bell’s will all attend this great festival. While there are certainly many recognizable brands in attendance, there are plenty of breweries that even the most-educated beer enthusiasts may not recognize. Some of the beers offered by these out-of-state microbreweries may be hard to find within the Greater Indianapolis area if it were not for this festival.

Location and Time

The Indy Brew Festival will be held in Military Park. Military Park is located off West New York Street, close to the Eiteljorg Museum. The festival is on Saturday, May 21st between the hours of 1:00pm and 5:00pm.

Tickets

As of early February, tickets have not been released for sale. However, since May can be such a busy month in the Greater Indianapolis area, it might be a good idea for residents to start planning for the Indy Brew Festival if they want to attend. On the Indy Brew Festival website, there is an area to sign up for the festival’s contact list. Anyone who signs up for this list will be contacted occasionally with the updates for the event. As soon as tickets are up for sale, anyone who signed up for this list should be contacted. There are two different types of tickets that will be available. The first ticket is the general admission ticket. It costs $40.00. The VIP ticket will also be available for purchase for $50.00. Holders of both types of tickets will have access to unlimited beer, free music, lawn games and all the other activities at the festival. Food is available, but it is not included with admission. VIP tickets holders will be granted admission to the festival before general admission ticket holders. Additionally, during the first hour of the festival, specialty beer is only available to VIP ticket holders.
