During the month of October, haunted houses are a hit in Indianapolis. To meet this high demand, Indianapolis has multiple haunted houses open to the public. Indy Scream Park, the Indianapolis Children’s Museum haunted house and Necropolis are some of Indianapolis’ best haunted houses open during the Halloween season.
Indy Scream Park
Indy Scream Park is a group of haunted houses in one location. This facility is located in Anderson, and it has six different attractions for 2015. Rage 3D, Zombieland Apocalypse, Brickmore Asylum, Back Woods and Blackpool are the five haunted houses at Indy Scream Park this year. The Monster Midway is the sixth major attraction at Indy Scream Park. It has food, games and beer. Tickets can be purchased online for as low as $21.98 during the week. Hours vary day-to-day, so visitors should check Indy Scream Park’s website. During the Halloween season, Indy Scream Park is closed on Mondays. Indy Scream Park is located on New S. Columbus Road in Anderson, Indiana.
Indianapolis Children’s Museum
The Children’s Museum is hosting its annual haunted house on certain days between October 10th and 31st this year. This year, the haunted house has a pirate theme. This will be the 52nd year the Children’s Museum has had a haunted house. There are three different scare levels available for guests. The IPL Lights-On level is recommended for children who are easily scared. The Defender Direct Frightening is good for kids who are not afraid of being scared. For adults and teens, the Children’s Museum has the EMC2 Xtreme Scream. Hours vary per scare level, so visitors should check the Children Museum website. In addition to the haunted house, the Children Museum has the Buccaneer Feast. It occurs on Friday, October 16th, between 5:30pm and 8:30pm. There will be pizza, dancing and music in addition to the haunted house. On various dates throughout October, the Children’s Museum will have its Friendly Feast with the Witches, which are public lunches with friendly witches. There is one breakfast Friendly Feast with the Witches on Saturday October 24th. The Children’s Museum is located at the intersection of 30th Street and Meridian Street in Indianapolis. Tickets for IPL Lights-On and Defender Direct Frightening levels are $8.00 while the EMC2 Xtreme Scream level is $12.00. Admission to the haunted house is not included with regular Children’s Museum admission.
Necropolis is another multi-attraction haunted house in Indianapolis. It is open every weekend and certain weekdays during October. There are four main attractions at Necropolis. The House, The Cemetery, The Factory and “The Museum-Hellusions in 3D” are all located in one area. Regular admission grants access to only The House, and it costs $18.00 for adults and $10.00 for children. The combo ticket admits visitors to all four attractions. Adult combo tickets are $30.00 while children tickets are $22.00. Visitors with children should go during the first hour of business. The attractions are least scary at this time. Necropolis is located at 2525 North Shadeland Avenue on the east side of Indianapolis.
