While there are certainly plenty of go karting venues in the Greater Indianapolis area, most are outdoors, making them unideal for the winter months. Additionally, most go-karts in the Greater Indianapolis are slow. Northsiders looking for a realistic, indoor go-karting do not have to go any further than the Keystone area. There, they will find Fastimes, the most unique hands-on racing experience in the Greater Indianapolis area.

Open Racing

Open racing is available at Fastimes every day of the week. However, occasionally, it hosts private events. Guests should check out the calendar on the Fastimes website to see if it is open to the public that day before getting there. There are a couple of minimum requirements to drive carts at Fastimes. First, drivers must be at least 18 years old, and they must have a photo ID to prove their age. However, there are certain junior karting racing hours available occasionally as well. All drivers must wear closed-toe shoes. Finally, guests will not be allowed to drive if they are suspected to be under the influence of drugs are alcohol.

There are three different karts available at Fastimes. The first kart, the Sodi Two-Seater, is a two-seater kart that simulates driving for the passenger. The Sodi LRS is the second kart available at Fastimes. It is designed with younger drivers in mind. It is a reliable kart, and it is incredibly safe to operate. This kart is ideal for junior league racers. The final kart available, the Sodi GT5R is the highest-performance kart onsite. It can reach speeds of 40 miles per hour.

For open racing, guests are permitted to be on the track for eight minutes at a time. Each eight-minute race costs $22.00 per person. Helmets and shoes are available for rent for $2.00 each. Memberships are also available for purchase at Fastimes. They cost $35.00 for the first year, and they are $20.00 each year afterwards. Memberships are ideal for guests who plan to visit Fastimes multiple times a year. Members pay just $19.00 for an eight-minute race. Additionally, members are not charged for shoe rentals.

Winter League

Northsiders interested in Fastimes should check out its winter league. Winter league events are only available to members of Fastimes, and the entry fee is $50.00 per driver. There is a total of eight winter league nights in the last few months of 2016 and the first couple of month in 2017. The grand champion of the winter league will receive the Indy Racing Experience, which includes a racing experience in real race car.
