With September coming to a close, Men’s College Basketball is right around the corner. With single-game tickets now on sale, Greater Indianapolis residents should consider checking out the local Butler Bulldogs at some point during the 2016-2017 season. Butler hosts great teams like Cincinnati, Villanova and Xavier this season at Hinkle Fieldhouse, which is conveniently located just a few miles south of Carmel.

The Butler men’s team has just one game in October at Hinkle Fieldhouse. It hosts an exhibition against Wabash College on October 29th. This Saturday game starts at 2:00pm.

In November, home action really picks up. The Bulldogs have a second exhibition against Saginaw Valley State on November 5th at 7:00pm. Butler then has its first regular season home game against Northern Colorado on November 12th at 7:30pm. Unlike the previous two games, the game against Northern Colorado affects Butler’s record. Men’s Basketball games against Northwestern, Bucknell and Norfolk State finish off the rest of Butler’s November home slate. These games are on the 16th, the 19th and the 21st, respectively. They are held at 7:00pm, 1:00pm and 8:30pm, respectively.

Following the Norfolk State game, Butler goes on the road for a while. Hinkle does not host a men’s game until December 3rd. The Bulldogs face Central Arkansas on this day at 4:00pm. A week later, on December 10th, the Bearcats of Cincinnati come to Hinkle in what should be an excellent game. This game tips off at 4:30pm. The last non-conference game at Hinkle for the 2016-2017 season is against Vermont on December 21st.

Easily the best month of basketball at Hinkle, Butler starts home conference play, hosting Providence, Villanova, Xavier, Marquette, Georgetown and Creighton. The Providence game is on New Year’s Day, and it starts at 3:00pm. Elite teams Villanova and Xavier come to Hinkle on January 4th and January 14th, and tipoffs are at 6:30pm and 2:00pm, respectively. Butler faces off against Marquette on January 16th at 12:00pm. The last January game at Hinkle is against Georgetown on January 28th. This game is at 8:00pm.

There are just two home conference games during the month of February. St. John’s comes to Hinkle on February 15th, and DePaul and Butler battle a few days later on the 19th. The St. John’s game is at 8:30pm, and the DePaul game is at 1:30pm.

During the month of March, there is just one game at Hinkle. This game is against Seton Hall, and it is at 2:30pm on March 4th.
